Introducing the Arts in California Parks Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee gathered for the first time on January 29 to discuss opportunities, explore examples of incorporating arts into parks, and offer inspiration and guidance on the development of the program.

Dia de los Muertos

Around 5,000 people celebrated Dia de los Muertos with interactive activities, museum exploration, and live artist work at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29, 2023.

Local artists as well as tribal and cultural leaders traced multiple historical paths of the L.A. River in a collaborative walking performance to celebrate the importance of water across cultures and geographies.

Sylvan Sounds: The Jim Ocean Band

A new free outdoor concert series previewed in Guerneville’s glorious redwoods last October, featuring the Jim Ocean Band. The “Sylvan Sounds” concert series will officially kick off in Spring 2024.
